Jorge & Isabel Rios
Jorge & Isa are the directors of the Youth with a Mission base here in Puerto Madryn. They have been working with YWAM for more than fifteen years, since before they were married. They met in the YWAM base in Buenos Aires where Jorge was working, when Isabel came to do her DTS school.
Jorge & Isabel Rios
Their love for the people and for Jesus Christ has led them both to have a significant impact in the life of all workers on the base and throughout the entire province of Chubut. With their two daughters, Yolanda and Cindy, they live and work in the base in Puerto Madryn that they have formed through following the call of God.
Jorge comes from the Amazon in Peru, near the city of Iquitos, while Isabel is from Argentina, from the city of Regina in the province of Rio Negro. Both are involved in teaching, discipleship, and preaching both within the base and in other places.

The History
Jorge was working with YWAM in Buenos Aires when Isa came to do her school. They met during that time and were married in 1992.
In 1997 God called Jorge and Isabel to pioneer a new YWAM base in the south of the country. After some time in preparation, they headed with their young family to the city of Bahia Blanca where they lead their first Southern DTS in the year 1999.
This place was not to be their destination as they felt that they needed to continue south. So one year later, they went to a town called Pringles where they remained for a time. But they still felt that God wanted them to go further south.
It was in the month of January, 2002 that they arrived at Puerto Madryn, in the province of Chubut. It was here that they felt they should stay and continue to raise up the new YWAM base.
For two years they used, as their accommodation, school, office, and more, an empty church building in the street of Moreno, number 326. During this time the staff: led five DTS schools; started ministries to reach the women working in prostitution in the city, and to help the poor in the rubbish dump; formed solid links and friendships with many local churches; ran a range of evangelistic events; discipled many youth; received and coordinated for a number of teams from other countries; and much more.
However before long, living in this old church building did not allow much more development or growth. So in 2004, after a lot of searching and praying, we finally found and started living in the place where we are located today.
