In our site you can find out information about the activities we are involved in both inside and outside the premises of our training center; such as the Discipleship Training Schools (DTS).

What is a DTS?
It is not a time of entertaining people. It is a place where people from different parts of the world meet together to hear from God and understand what His plan and burden is. It is a time to believe that God wants to use people and to be impacted by Him in such a way that your life could be changed to serve God unconditionally.

Therefore I encourage and challenge you to discover your Creator and live a true adventure with Him.

We have good news here, that after the accident, the Lord gave Jorge and Isa a new car through an offering from a dear brother. It is a FIAT Palio.

From the 21st of July until the 27th we had a public expo of our photos in the cinema of Puerto madryn (the place where all photo expos are normally displayed), showing the images of our work during the project of “With Peru in the Heart” in the north of Peru in the cities of Chiclayo and Trujillo during the months of January and February 2008.

What follows is a video showing the photos of this expo.

Yesterday morning Jorge and Isa Rios, the directors of our base, were returning from a weekend of ministry in the city of Comodoro Rivadavia when their car flipped over owing to adverse conditions of snow and ice on the highway.

Their car lost control and left the highway, colliding with a number of trees until finally resting upside down. Jorge and Isa escaped without being hurt and are now back home with their daughters.

Please be praying for their emotional health and that of their two young daughters also as the family has previously been involved in a tragic accident years ago where one of their daughters died.

Pray also for the next steps needed to be taken with the car. Whether they should send it for repairs or look for another vehicle.

Do the DTS!

The place in which we are currently living has been our home now for over four years. During this time we have negotiated with the owners to try and purchase the property, yet have never reached an agreement and the asking price of the property has increased dramatically each year.

Although our existing place is established, we have begun to outgrow our existing space and have constructed new rooms just to accommodate the current number of staff and students. Being rented, all investments into this place are lost to the owners and cause our rent to actually increase. So our need to purchase somewhere is now extremely urgent and we cannot continue growing while we continue to rent.

Something had to be done.

A new development on the other side of Puerto Madryn city, at about twice the distance at which we currently are from the city centre is selling private blocks of land of between 1 and 2 hectares at very reasonable (read cheap) prices. It has power and water plus an extra water network specifically for irrigation in this dry environment and the properties are selling extremely quickly.

There is a lot to commend this area of town and the starting with a fresh block where we have the ability to plan for the future and to build things just as we need them to be. At first things will be a little more difficult until we can move out of our current location over to the new place, but in the long run it will be much easier and much cheaper.

Therefore we have decided to purchase a section of land from here.

We would like to ask you to consider your involvement in this project and desire of ours to have our own place. The land that we want to buy will be at least twice the size of where we are now. I am writing because we want to let you know about our June DTS 2008. We are having a DTS that starts on June 14th and ends in August 8th, it is a 5 month DTS, 3 months theoretical and 2 months practical. We are planning a practical part in the triple frontier Peru- Brazil- Bolivia that is the jungle.

Some of the many activities while on a DTS

YWAM has been in Argentina for almost 20 years now, and reaches from Corrientes in the north, through Buenos Aires and Mendoza, down as far as Puerto Madryn and now Bariloche. Each YWAM base has been planted after a lot of prayer and guidance from God in the process.

During the last few years, God has started to talk to us about Ushuaia. Recently however we have been challenged to start a new YWAM base here.

The city of Ushuaia.

Ushuaia is a very young city, with the majority of its population being youth and young families. It is the southernmost city in the world, and as such experiences extreme temperatures and plenty of snow. During the summer the population swells dramatically with both tourism and hundreds of cruise ships that come throughout the summer.

Our challenge is not only starting the new YWAM base in this amazing city, but we also need to form a team of people for the job. These people will be carefully selected and will end up forming the core foundational team for YWAM Ushuaia. If you are part of this team, you will experience discomfort, hardship, tough times, and difficulties.

However, as you continue onward, persisting through these passing trials, you will also have the joy and satisfaction of seeing many lives transformed, people united to the cause, and the kingdom of God extended. You will also be able to enjoy seeing the transformation of this concept into reality, and be one of the founders of YWAM Ushuaia.

With the intention of present the project “With the Peru in the Heart” to the church and the community in general, we carried out a missionary night. Where we had the presentation of plays, traditional Peruvian music, and audiovisual presentations of old projects to Peru, typical Peruvian food and of course we also had a lot of people that encounter in the municipal Bingo.

For our surprise Peruvians non Christian attended the event, it was beautiful to see them excited when they listened the note of the National Anthem and they saw things from Peru. The Meeting finished with a preaching given by our Director Jorge Ríos that invited the church to preach the gospel.

With intention of collecting funds for the project “With Peru in Heart” we are organizing a series of Missionary Cults to which we denominated “Make That Your Life Counts”

We have divided the city in four zones; as a result we will have the participation of alln churches of the city in four different dates. Our yearning is to be able to motivate to church to preach the gospel, getting involve in the project and to give advances of our previous work.

The organization of the project is under the responsibility of Ingacio and Renata Gómez, as well as of Maricruz Rubio. They are going to be arriving in Peru on the month of November to establish relationships with shepherds of the area, also to organize the arrival of the teams, tickets purchase and all that has to done with the organization and preparations of the project. This is a very arduous work that requires a lot of effort on behalf of this team, but we trust the guide of God fully, in them and their capacities.

It is of great happiness and joy to announce the participation of the Ministry Mobile Hands in the project to Peru. Mobile hands have committed to support Peru in the disaster area (Pisco-Ica). The intention is to bless with constructions and reconstructions. We believe that God wants to bless Peru in a practical way.
